Cost of a gas fireplace installation — Aurora, IL

Last updated: September 24, 2026

What affects the price

When you start planning a fireplace installation, the final bill depends on a few major factors. Choosing between a simple electric unit, a gas insert, or a full wood-burning masonry build creates the biggest difference in cost. You also have to consider the existing setup of your home; running new gas lines or venting through a roof will naturally add labor hours compared to a straightforward swap. Finishing materials like custom stonework or mantel pieces also shift the total.

About this service

The total cost of a gas fireplace installation covers the unit itself, the labor for gas line connections, and the necessary venting to the exterior. If you have an existing masonry fireplace, an insert is often the most cost-effective way to upgrade. We will look at your gas pressure and venting path to give you a clear picture.

Most people do not think about fireplaces in the summer, which makes it the best time for a stress-free installation. You will likely find more convenient appointment times and faster project turnaround. It is the perfect window to handle masonry or venting work while the weather is dry and clear, keeping the process clean and efficient for your home.
